This comprehensive restoration of a Grade II Listed Victorian townhouse demonstrates our sensitive, considered approach to heritage conservation in one of London’s most distinguished residential settings. The project required careful navigation of both Planning and Listed Building Consents, balancing the preservation of historic fabric with the demands of contemporary family living.

Central to the transformation was the replacement of an existing conservatory with an enlarged design that aligns sensitively with the rear elevation proportions and neighbouring context. The new conservatory, finished in render and stucco with timber panelling details, creates a gentle architectural continuation that respects the rear elevation’s symmetry while providing generous additional living space. This replacement offered the opportunity to create a more open lobby by introducing French doors at the rear of the stairs. This intervention transforms the heart of the house, flooding the circulation space with natural light while establishing visual and physical connections to the rear garden. This area now functions as a calm, light-filled threshold between floors, enhancing both orientation and daily use.
